SPRING MEETING. THE SECOND DAY'S EVENTS. (By Telegraph-Press Association.) Auckland, November 4. Showery weather prevailed for the concluding day of the Auckland Racing Club's spring meeting, and tho attendance was only moderate. The totalisator investments amounted to .£22,15;), making a-total of .£37,484 10s. for tho meeting. Last year there were three days' racing. Besults are as follow:— HUNTERS' STEEPLECHASE, of 100 sovs. About three miles. Mr. Alfred's Webfoot, by Captain Webb —Premier, list (E. Chadwick) 1 Mr. Timi Pum's Eiro Atu, list. 131b. (Bull) 2 Mr. O. A. Duncan's Harkaway, lOst. lib (H- Dingle) 3 Also started: Sabine, list. 121b.; Blue Mountain- lOst. 111b.; Hobartown, list. 71b.; Calvata, lOst. 71b. The field was strung well cut throughout the first round, Blue Mountain and Sabine being prominent. Blue Mountain then went ahead, followed by Webfoot and Eiro Atu. Blue Mountain unseated his rider at the last hurdle, leaving Webfcot to win by six lengths, with 100 yards between second and third. Time, Omin. 32sec. GORDON HANDICAP, of 125 sovs. Five furlongs. This was the best race of tho day. The Cold was close together passing the stand on the first time round, at a stilf pace. Going along tho back Master Wairiki and First Wairiki were prominent.
