At the S.M. Court last week, a lad named Moellcr was committed to the Wellington Receiving Home, to be brought up in the Church of England. The charge was one of theft. Richard Bevan claimed ,£3O lis. sd. on a judgment summons from M. Bevan, but the S.M. declined to make an order. Judgment by default was given in the following cases: —Gomriiissioer of Taxes r. Isaac Ranslield, claim £a 10s. lid., costs 165.; Charles E. Lindsay v. Edward Reran, jun., claim .£3 9s. 9d., costs IGs. Several other cases wc-ro settled out of Court. Constable Dyer, who has been relieving Constable Satherlcy, the latter, having been on furlough, returned to Wellington yesterday Tho local constable has resumed duty here.
