COURT OF APPEAL SUMMARY.
SATURDAY'S BUSINESS. Judgment was given by the Court of Appeal on Saturday on tho motion by the Aueklanu District Law Society, to striko J. 11. Luiulon oil' tho rolls of barrister and solicitor, on the grounds of professional misconduct. Tho Court decided that Luudon's conduct brought liini within tho criminal law, but considered that it would be adequate punishment to suspend him from practice tor twelve months, and order him to pay costs. In the ca.sc of J. G. A. llaird and others v. Githa Enid Fergnisson and others, in .which the question to be decided was how far the defendant's Now Zealand property was affected by a marriage settlement made in Scotland before she was twenty-one years of ago, the Court dceidist that the case was governed by New Zealand law (not the Sctotish), aiid that defendant had repudiated the settlement within reasonable time after coming of a.gc, and judgment was therefore given for defendant in the action, which had reference to the transfer, of some land in the Wairarapa.
