THEATEE ROYAL. Miss Millie Doris, an English character comedienne, who recently completed very successful seasons in Sydney and Mel- " bourne, appeared at tho Theatre Royal . last night, and was an instantaneous „ success. Hiss Doris lias a delightful 1 style and individuality of her own, and she received an enthusiastic reception. . Attired in grotesque costume, she sang r her two first songs—"Before Your Father , Sees It" and "My Hot Cross Bun"— j with a capital blending of humour aud t mischievous charm. Tho audience wcro f persistent in their call for a further number, and the artist replied by singing , "Pull Yourself Together, Boys." Miss j Doris is sure to draw big houses during her 'Wellington season. Mr. M'Gce and Miss Recce, tho two American dancers, " aro other artists who supply a star item. Thev had to respond to a number of j recalls again last night. Tlieso two star 5 turns will bo included on tho prograrnmo , to-night. HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. To-night is "chahgo night" at His Majesty's Theatre, and Messrs. Kate." THE NEW THEATRE. Full houses wore recorded yesterday afternoon and evening at tho New Theatre continuous picture enterlainI ment. The magnificent pseudo-historic photo-play, "Napoleon's Last Days at St. Helena," provides tho principal feature. Tho scenes at St. Helena and the episodes (real and fictitious) associated with the Emperor's detention there combine in a providing an entertaining drama. Nots ablo among tho supporting subjects is a i splendid comedy-drama, "Tho Ruling Passion" (by the A.B. Company). The current series will be shown for the last time to-day. There will be a completo •- change to-morrow, but owing to its papu- - larity "Napoleon's Last Days", will bo retained on tho programme throughout e this week. o THE KING'S THEATRE. 3 Dospito unfavourable weather, there '_ was a good "house" to witness tho itiial production of a very good programme at tho King's Theatre last evening. Tonight a complete change takes place. Included in this will bo shown some up-to-dato films. These arrived by tho last Vancouver mail, and aro said to 1m in keeping with the standard of kinemato--9 graphy produced at tho King's Theatre.
