Mr. Maurice Lavery was admitted as a barrister of the Supremo Court yesterday by the Chief Justico (Sir Robert Stout), on the motion of Sir. C. If. Dix. Mr. F. C. Raphael, of Christchurcli, secretary of the New Zealand Cricket Council, left for Sydney by tho Moernki yesterday. It is'his intention to witness tho cricket matches between the English team and tho representatives of tho Commonwealth States at Adelaide on November JO, ilellmurne on November 17, aDd Sydney on November 21. Mr. ,7. Coylo, secretary to the Wellington Hospital Board, left by tho Jlocralti for Sydney last evening on a month's holiday leave.
