The Federal House of Representatives lias passed the Transcontinental Railway Bill. SEAMEN'S COMPENSATION BILL. SECOND READING. EXTENDING GOVERNMENT. POWERS. Melbourne, October 14. Mr. Tudor, Minister for Trade and Customs, in moving tho second reading in tho House of Representatives of tho Seamen's Compensation Bill, said it was a measure similar to that passed last session, excepting that tho Government had taken the power denied it by the High Court to deal with interstate trade.
