TERRITORIAL FORCES.
DISTRICT ORDERS. Distriot Orders by Colonel E. W. Ci Chaytor, commanding tho Wellington Military District, includo tho following announcements:— Owing to tho difficulty experienced by tho audit inspectors iu getting in tho balanco-shcets of tlio various' coinpanios, and the manner in which tho majority or these accounts havo keen kept, it has been decided to discontinue tho audit for tho present. Tlio Victoria Collego Rifles Company will form part of the Coast Delenco Troops and will bo attached to tho Tilth Regiment (WcJJingtxm Rifles) for discipline, administration, etc., but will bo at tho disposal of the Coast Defenco Commnrider tor training. The General Officer Commanding (Major. General A, J. Godley, C.13.) has'directed that in future, veterans may bo accorded military funerals when practicable, provided there is no espenso to tho Department. All officers whoso first appointment" wore gazetted subsequently to May 5, 1911 will be entitled to tho outfit grant. It is notified for t'lio information of all concerned that for this year it will not bo necessary to attend tho proscribed courso prior to examination for promotion.
I ho Rev. Herbert George Eosher and the Rev. Alexander Doull havo been appointed chaplains, of t'lio fourth class. . Tlio following officers passed for promotion (Dcc. 7, 1910), for tho rank eel opposite their name:—9th Regiment (Wellington West Coast Rifles)—Lieut'. J, C. Davidson, for captain; Victoria Collego Rifles—Lieut. H. 11. Dean, for lieutenant.
