Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Lid., report:—At our weekly sale at Lenn yesterday a full yarding of stool: was submitted to a, large attendance. Twenty-six pens of sheep nnd 57 pens of cattle wero yarded, and competition throughout was good, very little going out unsold, and we liavo to report a successful sale, bneep: Fat ewes, 21e. Id. and 19s. 6d.; fat wethers, 203.; ewes and lamb?, 15s. 6d., 15a. 7d., 175., 17s. 7d., 21s. 3d. to 23a. 3d.: hoggets, 11s. Id. to 14s. 6d.; email hoggete, 9a. to 9a 4d.; forward ewes, 13s. sd. to 14a. Bd.; forward wethers, 16s. Id. to 16s. 6d. Cattle: Fat bullocks. £9 10s. to £10; three and four-year etoro bullocks, £6 &•; tlirecvear steers, £5 15s; fat cows, £5 6s. to £6 5a.; forward cows, £3 15s. to £4 10s.; springing heifers, £5 15s. to £6 156.: store cows. 30s. to £3 2a. 6d.: 18-months heifors, £2 175.; weaners, 28s. 6d.
Tho New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report on their Feilding sale ae follows:—At Feilding yeeterday wo had a heavy yardin? of both sheep and cattle. Sheep wero rather dull of sale, with tho exception of ewes and lambs, which were well competed for. Cattle Eold well, and wo quitted the hulk of our yarding. Empty ewes, 7s. lCd.; mteed hoggets, 11s. Id. to 123. 6d.s two-tooth wethers, 15s. 2d.; light fat ewes, 15b. lid.; others, 19s. 6d.; ewes and lambs, 17s. 7d., 19s. 4d., to £1 Is. Cattle: Yearling heifers, £1 6s. to £2 65.: yearling steers, £2 to £2 145.: two-year heifers, £3 18s. 6d.; Btore cows, £2 2s. 6d. to £5 75.; fat heifere, £4 18s.: fat cows, £6 10s.; two and a halfyear steers (small), £4 55.; fat bullocks, £10 63.; bulls, £2 19s. to £6 3s.
Mr. Newton King's weekly stock report is as follows :-On Thursday. September 28, at Kaponga, I cleared Mr. J. Caughey 9 herd of 90 cows, which were mostly grade Shorthorns in fair condition, and the majority of which had calved., Thero was a, good attendance, and bidding, from the very start of the sale, was unusually brisk, it soon being apparent that a, record average would be obtained. The heifers wero no exception, and sold very well. These, with tho 90 cows, made tho high a-verage of £11 7s. per head. Dairy cow 3 in milk and close to profit made from £9 106. to £18 155.; later, £6 ss. to £7; cows, unsound in some quarters, £4 sb. to £9 10s.; heifors, springing, up to £10; yearling heifors, £2 165.; draught mare, £36 10s.; aged gelding, £16; calves. 3s. to Bs. The sundries 6old well. On Friday, September 29, I held a clearing sale at Mnhae, on account Messrs. D. and H. O. Johnson. It was snowing when the sale started, but cleared up afterwards. Considering tho quality and condition, the cows sold well. Cows in milk and eloso up, £7 10s. to £13 155.; later. £5 to £6 10s.; defective quartered, £4 Sβ. to £13 55.; springing heifors, £6 ss. to £9 155.; empty cows, £4 ICe.; hoggets. 145.; five-year mare, £25 5a.; four-year gelding, £20; yearling colt, £14 10s.; Ayrshire bull, £8 55.; Jersey, £7; yearling bull, £3 12s. 6d. Pigs: Slips, 11s.; bows, 275. to £5; sow and litter of ten, £6 55.; store pigs, Kβ. to 18s. At Urenui, on Monday, October 2, there was a. good yarding and a. good attendance. Bidding throughout was slack, but good business was done before tho sale concluded at tho following prices :-Yearling to 18-months heifers, grade Jersey 6, £3 Is.; grades and other sorts, 335. to £2 13s. 6d.; good 15-months steers, £2 15s. 6d.; 18months do., £5 125.; two-year empty heifers, £3 lEe.: 18-inonths. mixed, £3 7s. 6d.; bulls, £2 10s. to £3; store cow 3, £3 14s. to £3 19s. 6d.; forward cows, £4 55.; fat cows, £4 17s. 6d. to £5 15s. 6d.; springing heifere, £3 16s. to £6 75.; springing cows and calved, £7; hoggets, Us. to 13s. At my Stratford eale, on Tuesday, there was a good entry and attendance, with a keenor inquiry after all classes, especially young stock. At Stony River, on Wednesday, I had an exceptionally hea.vy entry though, owing to the ecarcity of feed in tho district, the inquiry was dull.
