WESLEY LITERARY SOCIETY.

The Wesley Literary and Debating Society hold an open meeting in the Wesley Institute buildings, Taranaki Street, last evening, Jlr. T. D. Kendall presiding over a good attendance. Several scones from Mtiterlinck's symbolical play, "The Bluo Bird," were read, those taking part bein.™ Misses It. and V. Dix, Dawfon, C. Smith, .Ucfdnmes Eigg and Godfrey, and Jlessrs. E. Kersley, G. -S. Gapper, E. S. James, and E. A. Simpson. 'Mr. W. E. Fuller read an interesting paper giving a short sketch of the author and explaining tho meaning and purpose of the play. A vote of thanks to those who contributed towards the evening's enjoyment terminated tho proceedings.
