Lotinga, tho well-known English sporting writer, has cabled to Arnst stating fchat his previous offer was misread. He states-.—"Will guarantee Barry's stake ,£500; allow you .£SOO expenses." Arnst has replied that this sum is insufficient. ' ■ UNKNOWN CHALLENGER OF ARNST. (By TelcsraDh.—Press Association.) Westport,- September 25. R. Sfsvenson, who it was stated in a Sydney cable message had challenged Arnst, is not known, in Westport. Some time since amongst the- possessions of a man. giving tho name of Archibald Brown, who had been arrested for drunkenness, was a written challenge to Arnst.
