RUGBY. IMPROVING THE GAME. (Dy TeleErauh.—Press Association.) Wanganui, September 25. The Rugby Tjnion has considered' the reply of Hid Mew Zealand Union to a recently brought before them by the local union regarding possible steps to improve the game. It was ultimately decided to call a special meeting in a fortnight to consider the matter of making suggestions for alterations to the. rules' of the game. OTAGO V. WELLINGTON. Dunedin, September 25. The. following- will represent Otago in tho football match, against Wellington on Saturday:—Full-back, Scott; threequarters, "Norrie, Watson, M'Donald; liveeighths, Williams and Black; halfback, Eckhold; forwards, Williams, Casey, Patterson*, Symonds, Brown, M'Keljar, Shoehan (captain), Nelson. Emergencies: Sutherland, Davidson, Graham, and Cuthill. ST. PATRICK'S PAST AND PRESENT. St. Patrick's College beat the Old Boys of the .same institution on Saturday by 6 points (two trios got by Blake) to nil. The Old Boys included T. Walshe, Ryan (2). and Jl'Evedy. Blake's tries were both the result of very fine runs. On the first occasion he badly beat several of the excracks.
