RUNAWAY TRUCKS SMASH A TRAIN. By Tclceraph—Press Association—Copyright Brisbane, September 11. Threo railway trucks broke away at Maryborough, travelled sovoval miles, and then crashed into a goods train. No lives were lost, but the rolling-stock was smashed and piled up on tlio line. (Rcc. September 11, 9.10 p.m.) Brisbane, September 11. Tlio damage duo to tlio Maryborough accident is estimated at .£IO,OOO. BRAKES PAIL TO ACT. (Rcc. September 11, 11.40 p.m.) Melbourne, September 11. Tho brakes in the van of a train which was shunting at Scarsdalo refused to act, and it dashed down an incline and crashed into some stationary trucks. Seven persons were injured, two of them seriously. The damage to tho rolling stock was slight.
