RAILWAYMEN AT PLAY.

PETONE V. NEWMARKET. The junior workers of the Newmarket (Auckland) and Pctono Kailway Workshops met at the Athletic- Park on Saturday afternoon. The game was fast and interesting, particularly so for a match of the "house" species, but the Petono men carried too nianj guns for their opponents, and they eventually won villi 25. points to spare. On Saturday last the Oriental fourth journeyed to I'aimcrston North to engage the Pa'lmerston third. An interesting game ensued, Palmcrston eventually proving victorious bv 12 noints to 8. For the U>srs, Calvin and lice;! scored tries, and Carmichacl converted one.
