PROFESSIONAL MUSICIANS.

Tho annual "social" of the Society of Professional Musicians of Wellington was held at Godber's rooms Inst evening. There wero a large number present, aud an enjoyable musical programme, was gone through. Tho president of the society, Mr. Lawrence Wat kins, M.8., gave an inaugural address on "Music in Our Schools." The following contributed to the programme:—'Cello solo, Mr. Frank Johnstone; song, Miss Gladys Watkins: piano solo. Miss Gow; song, Mr. Stevens; duet (piano and cello), Messrs. Maugha.n Baruett and Frank Johnstone; violin solo, Mr. H, Bloy.
