(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Napier, September 5. At the Supreme Court to-day William M'Carthy, chargcd with the theft of a silver witch, was found guilty. Sentence was deferred till to-moirow. In the caso of Frederick Ewart, convicted of cruelly ill-treating a horse by failing to provide it with proper food, water, and shelter, the Chief Justice stated that ho would not impose n term ot imprisonment, but would take till to-morrow to consider what fino he would impose.
