Mr. Willoiighby Knight, the well-known "Waiponga." Lower Hutt, poultry-breeder, whose announcement, "Start a Poultry Farm," appears in to-day's issue, has made a specialty of tho business for the past seven years, and lio now possesses one of the largest poultry breeding establishments ill :Vew Zealand. Rome idea of tho industry may be gauged by the fact that Mr. Knight has at present -IfiOO layers, 2500 chicks running about, while there is a contribution of 1000 eggs daily. Mr. Knight's breeds are Indian JRuiiner ducks, white Leghorns, silver Wvandottes, and White Rocks, all of famous utility strain#, and attended with supreme care. The illustrated circular issued by Mr. Knight is well worth perusal by anybody interested in poultry farming.

An announcement with reference to self-colourwl poultry breeds—white Leg-J horns and Black Orpington?—appears in* to-day's issue from Mr. 13. Hall, of "Witlowdalc," Nai Nai, Lower Hutt. Mr. Tla.ll is a young New Zealand farmer who has been about five years established in the egg and chick-raising industry, and in that time lis has built up a wide and important business connection. Ho has shown birds only three times, but at the last winter show he was awarded a special prize for the best egg-producing typo of female white Leghorn, while birds from his farm won nineteen prizes at the samo show. Mr. Hall also specialises in Indian Runuer ducks, and lately received an appreciative testimonial from a lady purchaser of 50 birds, who stated that she was receiving 10 eggs a day, and sho was satisfied that the strain was good.
