NAPIER LADIES' ' TOURNAMENT.' (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Napier, August 31. The Napier ladies' golf tournament was continued to-day under fair weather conditions. Tomoana 112 22 1)3 Miss Pearce, of Wellington, had the honour of returning tho best gross score, her round of 8(i being a ladies' rccchl for tho links, tho previous record being 87, put up by Miss Hindmarsh in 1909. • The first round of tho championship (match play) was got off in the alternoou. The results are: Miss Tweed beat Miss Crosse, 1 up at tho 19th hole. Miss Hindmarsh beat Miss Humphreys, 2 up and 1 to play. Mrs. Tomoana beat Mrs. Cato, 1 up at the 19th hole. Miss Pearce beat Mrs. Moore, 8 up and . 7 to play. Miss Cave beat Miss Dean, 4 up and 2 to play. Miss Abraham beat Mrs. Smith, 3 up and 1 to play. Miss Meg Hindmarsh beat Miss P. Baird, 5 up and 3 to play. Mrs. Williams beat Miss Campbell, 1 up at the 19th hole.
