Tho steamer Mcnelaus, a vessel of 1G72 tons gross, built in 1895, and belonging to the Ocean Steam Ship Company, arrived hero with her No. i hold afire. Tho next hold contained lyddito shells. Tho steamer was at once ordered to tho outlying harbour, where Admiral Simons (Superintendent of tho Malta Dockyard) and naval party boarded her and extinguished tho fire. Tho cargo is now being unloaded.
