A. & P. CONFERENCE.
. [To tlio Editor.] Sir,—Tn to-day's Press Association news I notice that at the A.' and P. Associations' Conference, a resolution has been .passed in favour,of constituting a governing body for A. and P. Associations throughout the Dominion. At tho conference held at Wellington in 1007 I had the honour to ■ represent tho Feilding A. and P. Association, and proposed a resolution—a copy of which is attached—practically on tho snmo lines. It was favourably' received; and adopted, with rome alight alterations. Although sonin stops were lakan to call the Provisional Committee together, nothing "definite' was done. 'I ain not writing this to claim anjr credit, nor in tho spirit of "I told you so:" Bat to bring back to tho memories of delegates who attended that conference, many of whom no doubt are.attending the present one, what was done then. .Without any practical benefit, resulting "from our labours, and . to- u'rgo -upon all A. and P. Associations thp necessity of seeing that-the-present resolution is carried out, as it will enable them to carry on still further the good work which I believe these associations are doing. They have a far wider sphera of usefulness than.tho.mere show ring, and it: is only by combination that the full benefits of their work can be attained. Seeing that the-conference has.again affirmed by qfjthis, it'will'be'a pity"ifit is'allowed" to' lapse, as the former one was.—l am, etc., . l:e. JACKSON. " Opunake, August 18, 1911. [Enclosure!
