THE MARCH OF "SYKES'S DRENCH."

(Published by Arrangement.) ._ Sykes's Drench, now before tho farming public for the past seventeen or eigh- i teen years, railed all over New Zealand, and .shipped all over tho Southern. Hcmi^ . sphere (inclusive of Australia and the Argentine),- has developed such a sale as to demand a special new factory for : its Manufacture. Tho building, "which has just been completed by Hie. proprietor ' (Mr: A. E. Sykes) is a flno two-storied structure, situated near the Post Office, New Plymouth. Tho buildihg has beea erected on."the most modern and approved plans in the way of architecture, stability, and quick dispatch of goods, while, at the snme time, it has been fitted with the latest machinery necessary for tho manufacture and mixing of veterinary remedies;'. . Altogether, the factory comprises fagtory and labelling rooms, packing department (a commodious room 70 . feet by. -10 feet), .laboratory, and ..showrooms, and offices. The upper part of the 'building is devoted to the 'manufacture of Sykcs's Drench, and other veterinavy remedies, and, when the. place was visited by n Dominion representative, noma 150. cases of tho drench wero .being, dispatched for Messrs. ,7. A. Entrican anil Co., Auckland, and for Levin and Company, "Wellington—tho wholesale houses, , who net as Mr. Sykcs's agents in New Zealand. The use of a chuto (from tho packing-room to tho next story) rendered ' the dispatch remarkably smart, entailed n minimum of labour, and served in a measure to indicate the thoroughness and business-liko promptness which characterises everything associated with the enterprise of the well-kiiav.-u proprietary in introducing his famous compounds to the great farming; public. The rush of ordors during the busy season—running into thousands and thousands of cases—apparently makes it imperative that manufacture and dispatch shall be effected in tho quickest possible time, and Mr. Sykes has never yet disappointed his patrons, although, at times, his industry and enter prise have been severely tested. Tho laboratory is fitted with all, the best solutions necessary for aiinlytical work, and I lie, show-rooms and offices, arc .models of artistic and useful comfort. Tho build, ing marks auothcr mile-post in the history and development of New Plymouth as an industrial and shipping centre, and "" Mr. Sykes may, in all. fairness, bo congratulated on the enterprise which has produced for himself, and also for tho ■ district, such splendid results. The history of Sykos's Drench is the history of mostly all other successful undertakings, namely, hard work and enterprise. Mr. Sykes preached the gospel (f the great, medicinal remedy in house :,o house, and in pilgrimages on a bicycle (extending over thousands of miles). But. before that, time, the drench had received its imprimatur from the late Mr. I!. ,T. Kiddiford,'himself one of tho most practical farmers in New Zealand. It is fully sixteen years .since Mr. Riddiford used the mt't'.ieine for his slock, and, ever afterwards he always used it. This recog- ' nilion was of great value to Mr. Sykes ■ in introducing his discovery to farmers; but, even then, there was a great, work to be accomplished, and it was only consummated eventually at the expense of much work, worry, and money. However, to-day, Sykes's Drench is apparently a j necessity on all New Zealand farms, and niso (wherever it has unco beeii tried) in Australia and this Argentine. Dairy farmers must have strong serviceable and easily-cleaned cans. Victor is tho namo of tho can that suits every requirement, and it pays handsomely to uso these cans nud no others. Every lid' will fit cvory can. Send for a oatalogup to Albert J. rarto'n t Cartertom . *
