A NEW INDUSTRY FOR WELLINGTON.
* A large manufacturing company named Hi 3 Wellington Cordage Company, Ltd., was registered this week, tho fir.st subscribers being Messrs. C. Stewart, J. S. Swan, F. 0. Dalziell, J. Passmorc, M. Passmorc, T. B. Dwan, L. Dwan, E. At, Boulton, D. Hobertson, anil I'. H. Miller. The object of the company is to manufacture binder twine, rope, cordage, etc., on a largo scale. Tho works will bo under tho control and management of Messrs. Passmoro Bros., two of tho most experienced manufacturers in the cordago liuo in tho Dominion. It is the intention of the company to erect up-to-date works with tho latest machinery, and tho company have secured a very desirable silo ill I'ctone. Tho buildings will be erected without delay, and the machinery has already boon ordered. The company intend to go in for binder twine in a largo way, there being a very large demand for this article. This means another industry for Wellington, and will give cmployment to a largo number of .workers. The latest machinery and methods wilt bo adopted, enabling the new company to produce a superior article. Tho solicitors for the company arc Messrs. Findlay, Dalziell' and Co. The secretary is Mr. E. Boulton. Messrs. Dwan Bros, were instrumental in starting this new industry, and Hosted the company.
