FURTHER PROCEEDINGS. (By Tclcsraph.-fTcss Association.) Auckland, August 9, Tho charges against Mrs. Jane Burns Hartley, Mrs. .Mary Hassoll, Mrs. Charlotto Campbell, and James Edward O'Shaughncssy, of being accessories after the fact, of murder, in connection with tho death of tho young woman, Elsie Aloxandor Holland, on tho night of June U, at the homo of Mrs. Martha O'Shaughnessy, at First Avenue, Kingslnnd, caino on before. Mr. Frozer, S.M., to-day. Mr. Mays, .in zoning the case for tho Crown, said th>t vheso four accused were charged, nude? Section 92 of the Crimes Act. Tlie p.'.ixs played by each were various. Tho most important section of tho evidence would bo that of two witnesses to whom Mrs. Campbell and Mrs. Hassell made certain statements on tho ■Saturday after Miss Holland died. It would seem dear from this evidence that Mrs. Hawell was responsible for placing poison in dorensod's mouth, either after death or so shortly before death that deceased ' could not swallow it.
After evidence similar to that givcu against Mrs. O'Shaughneasy a few days ago, tho bearing of tho case was adjonrnod till to-morrow.
