REPORTED MISSING.
• CLOTHES IN BATHING SHED. There is some reason to believe that a man named H. Crossley, who resided at 17 barrett Street, is missing. Crossley was employed by Magnus, Sanderson and Co., of Cuba Street. On Monday morning Mr. A. Constable Price went to the bathin<* shed, and, on examining the clothes ioiind a letter addressed to "Mr. H Crossley 17 Garrett Street." Inquiries made at Garrett Street showed that Gnp!ey had left home on Siindav at 0.30 p.m., and had not since returned. A paper-seller told Constable Price, at 8 o clock on Monday morning, he noticed a young man sitting at the waiting shed Iho paper-seller was shown tho cTothinir which had been found i,i the bathin" shed, and stated that it was similar to that worn by the nian whom he referred to. Mr. Benjamin Thomas, a brother-in-' law-,; has informed the police that the missiJig man was 35 years of age, and had a wife and Tour children, who were on their way from England to New Zealand. Mr. Thomas stated,that Crraley was a good swimmer, and was accustomed to winter bathing in England. He also said that Crossley had an intimate acquaintance at the Uutt, whom he used U> visit. Mr. Thomas visited Crossley'< lodgings, and found that Crossky's b«st suit of clothes is missing. So-far the police have heard nothing of the missing man.
