THE BALANCE-SHEET. A balance-sheet of the- Miramar Borough tramways was laid on the table at lust night's meeting of the Miramar Borough Council. ■ The revenue account for the year ended iMajch 31, 1911, showed a net loss of .£559 las. The liabilities were loans ■ totalling -£'■28,09.-) (at 41-.-per cent),- subsidies towards construction, ,£15,500; sinking fund, .£555-15s. 5d.; and district fund, .£■3067 19s. lid.; totalling .£48,118 15s. id. The X 3067 19s. lid. less than the liabilities. The chief.assets were-.— Permanent way and overhead equipment, .£26,794 15s. 3d.; and road-work, half-cost tunnel, shelters, lighting, preliminary expenses, .C33.9GG.

The loss for the ;>cnr was £1926 6s. 5d.; revenue .account, .£559 155.; interest on loans, .£llsl 18s. Id.; and sinking fund, ■filSi 13s. "Id. A report from the Tramways Committee stated that tho tramway returns showed that, the balance due to the city, for tho running of the cars from April to July had decreased from <£32t 2s. Bd. The Town Clerk was instructed to endeavour to arrange for through fares on the last car on each line.
