Mr. Wade, Leader of the Opposition, has appealed to Liberals in the Assembly to refuso to accept the Speakership, as the party would thus bo robbed of a vote. A third by-election is necessary, owing to tho illness of Mr. Macdonnoll, Chief Secretary, who wa6 returned unopposed for Cobar at last election. Mr. Macdonnoll was unablo to attend : tho House last session, and as through an oversight no leave,was obtained for him, the seat has therefore become vacant.' As a result of a Liberal Conference, Mr. Wdao claims that his party is again thoroughly reunited. LIBERAL RESIGNATION THREATENED. (Rec. August 2, 9.20 p.m.) Sydnoy, August 2. The Liberals to-day had a sample of the Labour party's troublous times, when Mr. J. Miller, member for Batkurst, placed his resignation in Mr. Wade'e hands, owing to Mr. Wade having stated that ho had not played the game in voting for the second reading of Mr. Beeby's Industrial Bill.
