According to, Mr. Sheat, one ot the Canterbury delegates to the conference, his province must have lost a million of money as a result of the ravages of the grub ill question. It was found in every class of soil. Mr. Oocbayna says lie has not received report of extensive damage by the grass grub in the Wnirarapa district, though Ive is aware that Hie grub exists in this and in most other districts. In Canterbury, he states, many of the pasture.- have been absolutely destroyed, and will require to be resown. This will be a serious matter for farmers, as tho price of gross seed is very hish just now.
