The A team (yellow: and black), with two exceptions, was the same as defended against Ilawkc's Hay I lie previous Saturday, and the B's (white) weio selected from the various senior learns. The Yellow forwards from commencement carried play into While's eirclcj where G. Davies missed. Hall was instrumental in sotting the B forwards moving by sending the ball on to SmyUio, who passed to Andrews, tho latter player being stopped by 1?. l'arton. The A forward lino now displayed some good com; bination, and set up an attack, the bal'r going into the circle, wheru C. Stock beat Morpeth with a shot. Individual play of tho B team gave the A backs every chanco to keep their forwards on the move, and Loader found the net, but was penalised for ofi'sido play. The White backs managed to shift play out of tho twenty-five, and their forwards reached the scoring area, where Andrews failed to make good an opportunity. G. Davies now started a passing rush, and sent tho ball on to G. Strack, who, in turn, gave it to Leader, who ran into the circle and soenred tho second goal for tho A's. Birch carried play into tho A circle, but Dunn failed to take tho pass, and the opposing backs found relief by hitting to the lino. Tho AVhites still kept up tho attack, but were 100 slow in tho circle, and a Yellow back sccurcd the ball and a passing rush was instituted, in which all the. forwards participated, and ended in Loader scoring the third goal. In tho second spell tho A team held the advantage, but became rather reckless in tho circle, missing a number of good chances. A. l'arton, full-back for tho B tccun, who injured his foot early in the game, but still continued to play, though unable to run, managed to stop the opposing forwards when things looked dangerous for his side. The White forwards still showed 110 signs of combination, and, when they did reach tho Yellow circle, lost tlieir chances by poor and erratic shooting. A Yellow back secured the ball in the centre of the field, and sent it out to Loader, who went down the line and hit into the circle, G. Strack putting the finishing touch and secured tho fourth goal. The B forwards made a determined effort, to score, but the opposing backs' defence was too solid, and tho A forwards attacked, Loader missing a couple of chances by hitting wide. Tho whistle now sounded for lime, with tho Yellows still in tho White's twenty-five. Messrs. Carver and M'Kenzic were referees.
