PUBLIC TRUST OFFICE BUSINESS.

On the motion ,of Mr. J. W. Jlacdonald, the Supreme Court granted to tho Public Trusteo probate of the wills of the undermentioned deceased persons Louisa Tucker, late of Auckland, widow; Charles Daniel Burdct, late of R-eefton, minor; Bartholomew Jlolony, late of Wellington, commercial traveller; George Pipes, late of Limvood, bootmaker; William Adam, late of Xapicr, station manager; Alexander Anderson, lato of Lower Hutt, farmer; Carulino Kay, late of Auckland, married woman.

Orders to administer were also granted to the Public Trustee in respect of the estates of the following;—-John Mario Moison, Into of Ashburton, bootmaker; George M'Donald, late of Maungntua, farmer;. Hugh Key, late of Seacliff, gardener; John Jlilo Gibbons, late of Fordell, tutor; Anna Jlaria Xcilson, late of Auckland, domestic; Edward Whiting, lato of Waimatenui, farmer; George Bull, lato of Auckland, caretaker (with will of deceased annexed); David Robertson, lato of Heriot, settler (with will of deceased annexed); "William Arthur Beeeroft, Into of Norfolk, England, formerly of Hastings, gentleman (with will of deceased annexed). ■ The. Court dealt with a motion for. an order declaring one Pichard Patterson to bo dead. Tho "facts of the case are shortly as follow:-Patterson and his wife, Ada Jane Patterson, resided in Christchurch, and Mrs. Patterson' died in 180S, leaving a will bv which she gave her whole estate to her husband during his lifetime and after his deceaso to hor children in equal shares. Probate of will was duly granted to the Public Trusteo, and, shortly after his wife's death, Patterson disappeared, having gone, it was believed, to Australia. He was last heard of in 1900, when he wroto to tho Public Trustee giving bis address as care the Rev. Cowporthwaite, Pirie Street, Adelaide. Exhaustive inquiries were mado in and around Adelaide regarding his whereabouts, but without result. Some years ago the Tnl'lic l'rustos petitioned the Court for directions regarding the disposal of tho moneys held on account of Patterson as life tenant under his wife's will, and the Court directed that advertisements be published in the papers circulating in and around Adelaide. Those advertisements have now been published without result, and on tho matter coming before (be Court again his Honour declared Patterson lo bo dead, and authorised the Public Trustee to distribute his wife's estate accordingly. In the estate of Charles lvtlward Walter Willeston, late of Sydney, formerlv of ■Wellington, gentleman, deceased, directions were given to enable Jhe administration to bo closed at an early date. Advertisements for claims against the estate were directed to bo issued in the Sydney "Baily Telegraph" tiee at intervals of a week, and distribution of the estate authorised six weeks after the last of such advertisements.
