All tho trees in the orchard are. in excellent condition, and have made good growth. Tho directors havo had cross shelter beds planted in tho present orchard, and the boundary belts are showing splendid growth, all the that were not satisfactory being replaced. Tho 60 acres which lmve been prepared are now. being planted, and in addition to the Sturmor Pippin and .Jonathan, your'directors have included both Mimro's I'avourito and Cox's Orange. Only two calls have been made during the year, making in all ten shillings per share called up, and the directors do not think it necessary at present lo make further calls upon tho shares issued. Tho retiring directors are Me«rq. W. C. Buchanan, W. 11. Day, and K. JV. Tab l , who retire by effluxion of time, and Mr. T. M'Crackcn, who has resigned. Tho three former are eligible for re-election. The retiring auditors are Me.«rs. Dudding and Olifcnt, who are eligible for re-election." Tho report and balance-sheet were passed. An additional report was handed in as tho directors had held an emergency meeting to consider the resignation of Mr. C. J. Jury, and they recommended that Mr. .T. Milson Jury be elected in his stead. This, with the retiring directors (Messrs. AV. C. Huehanau. M.P., W. IT. Day, and H. Ward Tate), was then put, and all were elected. Mr. T. M'Cracken, director, having retired from the company, it was resolved that the number of directors be reduced from 7 to G. Messrs. Olfent and f hnt tho number of directors be reduced from seven to six. Messrs. Olifont and Dudding wore re-elected auditors at a remuneration of £3 3s. cach.

Although we have had more frosts this year than for seasons past, everything is looking well, and the rough weather experienced in many places lias missed this district completely—in lact, much of our local weather lias resembled spring. W'atllo has been in. bloom ior weeks past, fruit trees havo budded splendidly, and tho grass has made good headway. Oranges, raspberries, strawberries, etc., may now be seen ripening here, clearly demonstrating tho mildness of the climate. One settler in the district lias picked several dozen of oranges and lemons, all of large size, and ol good flavour. New potatoes in small quantities have been dug. Very littlo havoc is reported from the lavages of the grass grub. As a result of the last race meeting in connection with the Maori liacing Club, the greater proportion of tho debt on the buildings and grounds has boon wiped off, and, with another such meeting as the Juno one, tho club should have a substantial credit balance. . Great efforts' are being made to niako tho coming. Horticultural Show a success in every way. Among tho donators to tho special prize list appear .tho names of 'Jlr. H. ii. ' FEILDING, Arrangements have been made -by the Feeding and District Employers' Association for Mr. Pryor, the general secretary, to address a meeting of employers in Feilding on Friday nest. On Thursday night tho soldiers and friends of tho Salvation Army gave a welcome tea to Adjutant and Mrs. Armstrong—the new officers of tho Feilding corps. The Maroro Golf Club will visit Feilding to-day to ploy a return match against tho Feilding Golf Club. The death took place, at her residence in Feilding yesterday morning, of tho wife of tho li ev. ..P., B. Fraser, Superintendent of tho Home Missions of tho Presbyterian Church of New Zealand. Tlw late Mrs. Frasor had been an invalid for some time, and, since her husband left Otago, had been on a lengthy visit to liotorua, with the hopo of recuperating. She came to Feilding some three weeks ago, having received 110 benefit from the trip north, and, in spito of the best attention. passed away. Among tho telegrams of sympathy sent ycsterilav to Mrs. T. E,-Taylor was ono from tho ltcv. A. B. Chappell, of Feilding, on behalf, of tho New Zealand 'ioung Men's Methodist Biblo Class Union, of which Mr. Chappell is president. Mr. Taylor was a warm friend of the union, and Mr. Chappell enjoyed the personal friendship of Mr. Taylor, and was often associated with him ill platform work. Mr. Chappell will give an address on "T. E. Taylor as I knew him—some lessons from a brave life," in AVesley Church to-morrow.
