CHBISTCIIUKCH NORTH. Politicians are already beginning to talk of the coining by-election at Christ, church North. Tho Reform parly has a choice of three candidates—Messrs. J. D, Hall, H. D. Aclaud, and A. S. Taylor, all of whom are solicitors. Mr. Hall is a son of the Into Sir John Hall, aiid has for £onji3 years been prominent in the public life of (he Cathedral City, formerly as a member of tho City Council and as the first chairman of tho Fire Board. Mr. Taylor entered public life as a member of tho City Council .it the last election. Mr. i eland is n. much respected citizen.

One of tho Canterbury members has received a telegram .stating that Mr. J. M'Combs, a Prohibitionist and Radical, who opposed Mr. Davey in Christchurca East at tho last election, will be. a. candidate at tho Chri&tchnrcli North byelection. The nanio of the Rev. L. M. Isilt is also mentioned in tho same connection.
