MOSQUITOES ON OUR BEACHES.

CITIZEN'S PROPOSAL. An Island Bay resident (Mr. W. Prince) has written to the City Council directing attention to the mosquito nuisance on the suburban benches and suggesting, with a view to its abatement, that stagnant pools along the beaches, in which the inserts breed, should be treated with kerosene. Mr. Prince oilers lo ileal with nil tho pools from Happy Valley to Houghton Hay if the council will supply the kerosene. He states that two cases of oil would suffice. The council has thanked Mr. Prince for his-suggestion.
