Through indisposition, Miss Essie Jennings, tlio popular bnlladist, was again unable to appear al the Theatre lioyal last night, hut the various other performers of the huge company combined to contribute a bright enlcrtainnie:it. 'I he programme will be repeated this evening. HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. A bright and diverse programme of pictures attracted a large audience to Ills Majesty's Theatre last cveninp, Hi spilo of the incleiiienl weather. There will he a complete rhanse of programme tins evening, embracing pictures c-iticornins: the preliminaries to the Coronation ceremonies in London.
KING'S THEATRE. The audience at Ihe King's Theatre was large, though the weather was wet last evening, and the excellent programme submitted finite justified the liberal patronage. One picture, which specially attracted interest, was the parading of the overseas troops in London n few clays before Ihe Coronation. There will lie a complete change this evening, and on Monday nest. Ihe management hope to be able to show the actual Coronation pictures. THE NEW THEATRE. The current programme at. the New Theatre .will be repeated for the last time, to-day. Some very fine dramatic and cDinic items are included in tho present series, which is screened continuously from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. To-morrow a new lot of star films will be shown.
"THE SCARLET TROUBADOURS." Encouraged bv the success achieved by the "Scarlet Troubadours," Mr. Edward Branscombs has arranged a farewell visitof Australasia and >"'e,v Zealand before the company's, final departure for England. When "The Troubadours'' first left England—over three years ago—they ivere engaged for only twelve months. So great was the popularity of their performances, that they have now made no fewer than three comprehensive tours of the colonies. Their all-round musical excellence, clever humour, and vocal abilities have earned Jov them the' heartiest support, and enthusiastic receptions have greeted them wherever they have appeared. The personnel is practically the same as on their previous visits, and they will present entirely new programmes- They are booked to appear at the Opera House on Saturday next.
SUNDAY CO-NCEET. The Garrison Band, with the assistance of Madame Mueller and Mr. R. Blow,' vocalists, will give a concert at the Town Hall on Sunday evening next- Included in the programme will be the dainty band item, Intermezzo "The Evening Bolls." \Y°. Rimmer. This will be played for the first lime here. A. silver coin collection will be made in aid of the band fund. Professor Hunter will deliver a lecture at the Arts Club to-night.
