CBr T<flecrtpta.—Special Correspondent! Hastings, July 21. Messrs. A. L. D. Fra?cr and J. Es Lane will represent the Hastings branch of the Farmers' Union at the Dominion Conference opening in Wellington «on Monday.
A serious accident occurred at Woodford House, Have! nek, this afternoon, when a man named D. MaePonald had his right arm chopped off between tho shoulder and elbow. Mac Donald was engaged in fitting machinery nt the W'-od-ford House School. Ho hns been to a private hospital in Hastings. Tho first instalment of steel pi]x>s to bo used in connection with tiie Hastings, high-pressure water supply scheme arrived from Wanganui yesterday.
