When the Channel steamer Roebuck, after leaving St. Helier's, struck on the Corbiere rock, off the Island of Jersey; a hundred and forty passengers were breakfasting. A tremendous shock swept tho crockery and food from tho table. Tho deck near tho bows was soon level with the water's edge, and the forecastle and forehold wero flooded. There was no panic. Tho passengers and mails were quickly rescued.
