(From Our Special Correspondent.) . « At a preliminary meeting of the Lower lliitt l'oultry Society held last night, the ljiilaiict-ilibtt of the recent show was formally adopted, and iinal 'arrangements made for the annual liicotinpr, which will be held in about three weeks' time. The Petone West School Committee have given authority to their headmaster, Jlr. Bedingfield, to purchase two dozen pines to he planted on the south side of tile school to shelter 1110 grounds in cold weather, and also l'or sun-shelter in the summer. The epidemic of measles has decreased the Petone AVest School attendance on an art-rage by 100 children in the last two months. 'Present indications, however,, show on improvement..
