JOTTINGS FROM WANGANUI.
(By Telegraph.—Special Correspondent.! Wanganui, ,luly 20. A second case of skin cancer (rodent ulcer) is now under treatment at Wanganui Hospital, X-rays.being used. As in the case-of the euro reported yesterday, th© second patient is making' very good progress, and a complete euro is confident: ly expected in his case also. Tho Waaganui Borough Council will be represented nt tho'conference on the proposed tramway regulations by Mr. C. E. Mackay (mayor), Councillor C. C. W. Povnte'r (chairman of (he Tramways Committee), and Mr. ; F. F. Tnlboys (tramway engineer). The Gonville-Cnstlccliff Tramway Board will.be represented by the deputy-chairman, Mr. F. Webb Jones. irbor Day was quietly celebrated here. The schools did a little planting in the morning, and there were two nublic function?, an avenue of tree-ferns, being planted at Virginia Lake Park, and' a start, made with a beantificatiou of the small piece of waste ground between the town wharf and the bridge. The latter has served to call forth a creditable example of public spirit on the part of the Waterside Workers' Union, whoso members' not only offered to assist in the work, but have undertaken to relieve.the Beautifying Society of the duty of keeping the ground in order in future. Tho Marere, which continued her voyage to London yesterday, took from this port 0675 carcasses of mutton. 7907 carcasses of lamb, and 502 bales of wool, besides a quantity of tallow, pelts, and other bv-proi'ucts. ' -Though the cars-o had to be lightered to her in the road-, ftenil, it was.out aboard in little over £•} hours' actual loading time.
