THEATRE ROYAL
• Every mDinber of tho largo audience at the Theatre ltoyal last, night seemed to be more than pleased with that part of the now programme in which the Elliott Sisters appeared iu tho giddy, little musical piece, "A Nicer LUtle Girl." These juvenile performers fairly captivated the house, with their pretty singing and sprightly acting, niid they wevo recalled several times. In the second half they appeared with Miss Maud Fanning, whoso ccon impersonations made ii distinct hit. Miss I'iimiiiig was billed for three numbers, and had to supplement them with sonio .dancing. Joe Watts..and -Madge Lucas had no reason to complain of tho warinth of - their reception. Miss Lucas is a wonderful contortionist, and her partner has made a speciality of clog dancing. '■. The Kelso Boys have mastered tho art of juggling, iiud their work with clnbs, billiard balls, hoops, plates, and tho like is certainly not lacking in finish. Tho "dummy" infuses humour into tho turn, and well merits a share of tb.o applause which follows. Welcome reappearances were made by Bob HaTpcr and .Tim Gaffney. .The lnttcr's_song and dance turn was a.popular.item on the first part. Tho comedians of tho. company, Arthur Elliott and Ward Lear, filled an important part in the evening's entertainment, and'their farce, "Two Stranded Actors," is a laughter-provoking affair. Mr. Elliott, by special reciupst, repeated his previous success, "Tho Next Department, Please," for which ho was vociferously applauded. AFiss Essie Jennings, a charming balladist, was warmly encored for her singing of "Garden of Hoses."- and responded with "Good-bye, Girlie." Miss Brightio Carlisle, who is.Teappearing, was accorded a good reception, as were Miss Lucy Layiiiia, a .dainty and Miss Emmie JTurdie, a singer of serio-comic songs. Tho programme will be repeated this evening and during the remainder of the week.
