SLIGHT FIRE ON THE FLORA.

WATER REACHES LIME CARGO. A small outbreak of fire occurred in the starboard side of No. i hold of the Union Company's cargo steamer Flora, in port here yesterday. It appears that about midday, while the vessel was moored alongside Jervqis Quay, smoke was seen rising- from this part of the vessel, and on investigation it was found that fame bags of limo had ignited. The City FireBrigade were quickly on the scene, but their services were not required. The outbreak originated owing to water finding its way through the deck and coming in contact with tho lime. Tho damage was Very slight, as, besides some of the lime cargo being burned,. only a few sacks of chaff were charred a little. In consequence of'the outbreak the Flora was delayed a short, while in raking her departure for Westport and Greymouth.
