Auckland boys—would be played in Auckland; It was stated by the secretary of the 'W.TT.A. that'ho had written Auckland, advising them that August 12 is the date appointed for the match. South Wellington Fifth Division B team, entered a 'protest against tho referee's' decisions in' their match against Marist Bros, on Saturday last. The complaints were numerous, and, after discussion it.was decided that, seeing that the.referee's decisions ,were on..points of fact,;and not in connection, with the laws of the game, the protest could, not be entertained.. •...-■ . Mr. B. L. Salmon wrote, suggesting that the. Canterbury representatives, be asked to visit Wellington some time this season. • Wellington have -already entered a challenge for the : Brown Shield (at present held by Canterbury),, but. two matches have- to be played before this match takes place, provided Canterbury retains tho shield. The writer expressed; the opinion that' it would be a pcod thing for the game in Wellington if Canterbury could be.induced to come to Wellington, and , play a match before our representatives travel south.—Consideration of the letter was beld over fcr the present. Mr. Y, C. .Jacobs wrote, suggesting that the men who gain representative honours should receive some mark of distinction nf the hands of the W.F.A, He. suggested a shield, tn bo worn on the right breast of tho shirt.—lt was decided that the matter be referred to the treasurer, and that he bo asked to furnish a report to the Association of llie.cost of such badges. On July 19, the Marlborough boys' re-: preventatives- will meet Wellington fifth division representatives on the Basin Reserve. During their stay here the visiting team • will bo entertained by the W.F.A. committee.
A donation of a set of silver medals, to be given to the- winners of the schools' competition, was accepted from Sir. E. Bolton; It was decided that the fourth division Charity Cup contest he commenced on Saturday, July 15. SATURDAY'S MATCHES.
