Excluding warships, ■Wβ vessels, totalling 1,470,391 tons, aro under construction in Great Britain. This is 6200 tons above the previous record established in September, 11)01. The tonnage under construction in (he principal shipbuilding countries compares as under:— Tons. Great Britain 1476,304 Germany 1>55.908 France 126,186 United States 97,803 Holland 78,125 Austria 51,750 Japan - 34,239 Italy 19,991 There are also 59 British and five foreign ■warships under construction, in British yards.
