KARORI BOROUGH COUNCIL.

The fortnightly meeting of the Karori Borough Council 1 was hold last night. There were present tho Mayor (Mr. C. Cathie), Councillors W. G. Bradnoek, J. T. Frost, AV. T. Hildreth, A: Hamiltou, E. Standen, J. Horn, AV. H. Nimnio, E. Is. Anderson, and B. G. H. Burn. The Finance Committee recommended that tho tramway extension loan should close at .£25,000, which includes work to be, done ami iuterest to be paid, and that ,£'sooo (being tho balance of tho loan) ba taken up from the A.M.F. Society. The council referred the matter back to the committee.

A good deal of discussion arose regarding a request from Jlr. H. Hull, a Standen Street resident, to have a high-level road to his residence.. It was resolved that the request should be granted subject to the residents paying <£1 for any wotk done. The sum of Jci was. stipulated as a nominal sum to cover the possible liability ,of the council regarding the road, which runs through part of tho Standen Estate, and which road has not yet been taken over by the council.
