' ANNUAL MEETING. "'-The 'annual; general'meeting of .tho Hutt. Vallev Horticultural Society was held last evening, Mr. C. Trevetlnck presulTho • balance-sheet showed a. substantial credit of £20, an increase of'JUl on last vear. The annual report stated that two 'shows were held during tho year, each of them proving very successful. Tho report and balance-sheet were adopted. . , Tho following offico-beavers were elected for the ensuing year Patron, LadsWard; president, Mr. C. Trevetlnck; vice-prcsidents, Mesdames Riddiford and G. Pearco, and Messrs. T. M. Wilford, E. P. Bunnv, J. W. M'Ewan, J. Duthie, A\. •Tolliffe, W. Hughes, Gresley Lukin, C. Skerrett, and E. Turnbull; committee, Messrs. Buckingham, Holland, H. Chapman, Hobbs, Rushworth, Wall, Waugh, Woodward, and Hendry; hon. see., Mr. T. L. Barker; hon. treasurer, Mr. C. Trfvethick. Mr. Woodward, the retiring secretary, was accorded a hearty, vote, of thanks for his services to the society during the past three and a half years. It was decided that .a presentation be mad© to Mr. Woodward.
