Caillaux, who was Minister for Finance in the late French Cabinet, and who is described as tlie French LloydGeorge, will probably be the new Premier if MM. Poincaire, Bourgeois, and Deschanel, and other Republicans will cooperate. , 11. Delcasse is expected to retain his present portfolio as Minister for Marine. M. Caillaux, who was a professor at the School <if Political Science, is a .leading Combist and opponent of the religious orders. He has identified himselt almost exclusively with finance. As l<l nance Minister in the Clemenceau Cabinet ho was responsible for the Income lax Bill, which was temporarily shelved when that Ministry resigned.
