Mr. Allen spoke very largely Oil the linjs of his previous addresses in criticism of the Government, and also in explanation of the Opposition platform. At the Magistrate's Court this morning three absconders from Bnrnliam Industrial School—Hobert Meaclem (18). Edwin Agnew (17), and Samuel Ross (17)— were charged with the theft of a motorcar, valued at JESSO. the property of Br. Browne- 'Ihcy all pleaded guilty to the charge of absconding. The police stated that Meaclem had absconded twice after being transferred to Burnham from gaol, and that, Agnew. who had been at St. Mary's (Auckland) and Nelson Industrial Schools, was a frequent absconder. The magistrate said lads of this stamp ought, not to be sent back to an industrial school. He considered each should bo sent lor twelve months' reformatory treatment, but in view of the motor-car charge, he would postpone sentence. Accused were remanded on the charge of theft.

WALKING ROUND THE WORLD, . Wanganui, .Tune 19. Joseph Frank Mikulee, who_ is walking round the world, arrived in Wanganui today. Ho left New York on January 16, 1911, and after visiting the capital of every State (to prove which he has the seals of each city and letters from Mr. Roosevelt and ~ "President Taft downwards), he sailed from San Francisco to Newcastle. Thence lie walked to Sydnev, where he joined' the barquentine Al'cxa as a seaman. The Alexa arrived this morning. TWO ENGINE-CLEANERS ARRESTED. Auckland, June 19. Complaints have frequently been mado of thefts from tho railway station at Paeroa, and to-day two engiiie-cleaners, both about 19 years old, were arrested. They were charged at the Paeroa Police Court, and remanded for a week. A quantity of tho missing properly lias been lecoveral.

After an all-day sitting, accused was committed for trial, bail being allowed. TIMARU DAIRY COMPANY. Timaru, Juno 19. At the adjourned meeting in bankruptcy of the Timaru Dairy Company (a partnership concern), the auditors' report stated that tbere had been a loss of -X' 3769 in eighteen months from paying too much for butter-fat (average 10.5 d.), and the proportion of sale prices (average 10.7(1.), and high expense of management and interest (10 per cent, on capital). Sales were 016,4161b. HOME RULE. Timaru, June 19. So far .£243 bas been collected in Timaru for tho Home Rule fund. Mr. Hazlcton speaks at Temuka to-niglit, and at Timaru to-morrow night. At a large.and enthusiastic meeting to.night, addressed by Messrs. _ Redmond and Donovan, Irish delegates, it was announced that the collection in the town and district totalled JC2SO, as compared with J2S7 on the occasion of the visit four years ago by the Home Rulers. The townspeople are preparing a big display of processions for the afternoon and night of Coronation Day, a public ball on Friday, and a children's fancy dress ball on Saturday. MR. E. J. RIDDIFORD'S ESTATE.

1 VALUED FOR PROBATE AT .£300,000. The estate of tho late Mr. E. J. Riddiford, of Lower Hutt, has been valued for probate at .£300,000. The landed interests are covered by a deed of partnership to which tho deceased and his three sons—Messrs. Edward Vivian Riddiford, Daniel Henry Strother Riddiford, and Eric Leslie Riddiford—were parties. The interests of tho deceased revert lo the sons. The lands, held under the deed of partnership (dated June, 1007) are as follow:—Te Awaite, 51,200 acres; Glenburn, 12,132 acres; Orongorongo, 581 acres freehold and 719G leasehold; Puke Atua, SIISB freehold, and 58SG acres leasehold; Tablelands, 8673 acres leasehold; liuamahanga, 701 acres freehold. The duty on these station properties totals <£12,238. To the widow is bequeathed the residence, "Fern Grove," Lower Ilutt, and ,£IOOO for immediate requirements. It is provided that upon Mrs. Riddiford's transference of her partnership interests in the Ruamahanga property to her sons (the remaining partners) she shall become entitled to an annuity of .£2OOO per annum, to be reduced to .£2OO per annum in the event of her marriage.

A trust fund is to be created for the, benefit of the three daughters. That in respect of Elsio Harriott Lindsay (who received a marriage settlement) is to be .£20,000, while the fund will total .£30,000 in respect to each of the remaining daughters, Phyllis and Ngaire Riddiford.

The following legacies free of duty are provided :— To Oliver Asliby Bunny (brother-in-law of deceased), £500; William Bunny (manager of Glenburn property), ,£2000; Daniel G. A. Cooper (nephew), ,£2000; Tancred Cooper (nephew). .£200; Kathleen Marjory and Ruth Humphrey ,£SOO each; Jane Hall (nursei, .£100; David Davies (ex-employee), .£150; William Anstis (stockman), .£100; Annie. Lee, wife of Harry Lee (ex-employee), ,£100; Mildred Butler (housemaid to Mrs. Riddiford), .£250 and a life annuity of .£100; for the benefit of Emily Pratt (niece), wife of John R. F. Pratt, the sum of -£500 is to bo invested by the trustees. A codicil of April 10, 1011, provides for the payment to the vicar and churchwardens of the Church of England parish of St. James, Lower Hutt. the sum of .£SOO. to be applied either to tho church buildin? fund or to ba used as they think fit.
