ORPHANS CLUB.

On Satarday evening tho members of | the Wellington Orphans Club held their usual "torero," tho proceedings being enlivened with songs, recitations, and instrumental items. Tho guests of the evening were the members of the General Staff at Defence Headquarters, and tho visitors wero most hospitably entertained. The Commandant of tho New Zealand Forces (Major-Gcneral A. J. Godley, C.8.) was to have been present, it having been, arranged that he should deliver a Coronation address. Unfortunately, the General contracted a chill while attending tho afternoon rehearsal parade for the Coronation review, and consequently was unablo to- be present.
