CARNIVAL WEEK".' The Dominion Dairy Show is nn event of importance to Taranaki, and affords, so much -Instruction and enjoyment that, it, awakens a vory lively interest. Rapid progress is being made with tho preparations. and tlir secretary is now in a position to briefly outline sonic of tlin event's which are to take place during carnival week. lord Islington, who will ho the pi'.cst of Mi'. A. W. Gillies, will arrive in Hawrra on Tuesday. July 4, and that evening be will attend a lecture to ho delivered by t'lia Hon. T. Mackenzie iu the Opera House. On following morniiia he will prohahly visit the Waimate Plains and will return in . time to open the show at 12 o'clock. In the afternoon he will bo accorded a reception by farmers and v.ill be entertained at dinner by the Winter Show Company, taking his denarture from llawera nil the frltlovinpr day. Amongst tho important fixture' for the week are the WanenmriTaranaki football match and tho Plumpion Club's meeting. Arrangements have been made for lectures to be delivered at the Technical School by Government inI'lruciors, dealing snecially with subjects of importance to farmers during the week.
