NELSON CASES. (By Telecraph.— Press Association.! Nelson, Juno 11. At the Supremo Court, in tlio action Richardson v. tho Nelson "Evening Mail," n claim for .£300(1 damages for alleged libel, the jury returned a verdict for the defendants. Harlev, solicitor, a claim for .£3OOO for alleged slander, arose under tHe same circumstances as tlie former action. Mrs. Kichardson was defendant in an action brought by the aitnoa County Council in the S.M. Court for encroach-, ing on a public road. Mr. liarloy appeared for tlio council, and, during the case, the Crown grant of Mrs. Kidiavdson's property was put in containing (i plan. The Registrar of Deeds at the magistrates request, compared the grant with the copy in his possession and pronounced that no alteration had been made.
