FINANCIAL ASPECT. EXPECTATIONS EXCEEDED. TENNIS: A WIN FOR MISS NUNNELEY. A statement of receipts and liabilities of the Coronation Industrial Exhibition, covering from January 7 to Juno 13, was tabled at the meeting of the Industrial Association last night. Tho receipts totalled -C3G33 lis. 10d., of which tho principal items were:—Space fees, ,C 709 lis. WILLIS STREET TRAMWAY EXTENSION. ' This morning a big squad of men will XJ detailed to commence tho work of extending the Willis Street tramway- lino from Stewart Dawson s corner to tho Gcueial Post Office, where it will junction with the .Torvois Quay line. This work is to bo pushed on as rapidly as possible,' nnd when completed it will he possible to put on spccial Exhibition cars at stated intervals. THE TENNIS TOURNAMENT. LADIES' FINAL WON BY MISS NUNNELEY. The tennis tournament was continued at tho Stadium last evening, the principal event being tho final for tho ladies' cliam--pionship singles, which was won by Miss Nunneley, who beat. Miss Travers— 3, 3—o, G—l. The match was a most interesting one... At the end of tho first sot, Miss Nnnnelcy was leading, s—]. Miss Travers then took two games, Miss Nunneley winning by G—3. In tho second set, Miss Nunneley led (2—l and 3—2). Miss Travers then equalised at 3—all, and won at G—3. In the third set, Miss Nunneley led 3—love. Miss Travers -fol-' lowed with a win, Miss Nunneley retaliating in tho next three, and making sot and match two sets to one. In the men's championship singles, the results of the third round matches complet-cd were, as follow:— Cornell beat Swonstou,' G—3, I—G, G—2, Brown, beat Eller, 3—G, 6—p, B—G. Tho tournament will bo resumed on Saturday at 2 p.m., .when the semi-finals, Visiter v. Jeffrey, and Brown'v. Cornell, will bo played. ** STADIUM SPORTS. THIS EVENING'S EVICTS. The athletic sports events M tho Sta» dium to-night should attract a big leathering of spectators. Among tlis principal attractions on tho programme. will bo tho final of the milo run, which, in view, of tho close finishes in the, three heats, should furnish an exciting contest. Tho high jump lias attracted several notable performers, including Len M'Kay. Four teams have entered for tho Relay Race.. A girls' skipping contest, electric light club swinging by "midgets," and a threelegged raco (post entries), are additional attractions. At 2 p.m. this afternoon, a bowling match, Wellington v. Hutt, will talc© place. The Wellington team consists of: Messrs. A. Hamilton. W. J. Thompson, 1?. Laurcnson, and T. Ballinger (s.). To-morrow afternoon a golf-putting competition for ladies and gentlemen will, bo commenced, and will ho continued on Friday afternoon nnd evening, aiid on future suitable dates. ENGLISH PIERROTS. Those bright and 'amusing entertainers, tho English Pierrots, were again well patronised by Exhibition visitors last evening, and maintained tho reputation they have earned. Tho programme> submitted was good in every part. fcMigs, 'dances, and other items enaUed the company to display its versatility and talent to full advantage. In a word, the Fieirots added one more to their Rvowing list of successes. _ They will repeat their entertainment this evening. The picture show run in the Coronation Theatre during tho day continues to attract a fair meed of patronage. Tho pictures figuring on the current programme are all of an attractive eoit, and many of them are considerably above the average standard of merit. WIRELESS DEMONSTRATION. Arrangements have been made for another demonstration of ™'cj<y>s telegraphy to bo given at the Exhibition on I'ridav, from 7.30 to 10 p.m. On this occasion Mr. BusWcll, the operator, will probably rcceivo messages for transmission from another part of tho buildup to the receiving station. Mrs. Forster Denny will give a gas-cook-ing demonstration at the Exhibition al 3.1, i p.m. to-day. Tho Wellington Gas Company s or. chestra will reudcr a number of selection' at the Exhibition to-night.
