DRINK AND POISON.
FEMALE DIPSOMANIACS' END By Telecraph—Press Association-Oopyrlirtit (Rec. Juno 14, 0.40 a.m.) Melbourne, June 13. An unusual tragedy occurred yesterday at Fitzroy. A woman named Miss Ford died in the hospital yesterday night, as it was supposed, from natural causes. This morning Miss Ford's sister, a Mrs. Russell, was found dead on a pieco of vacant ground. The police inquiries then disclosed I'ho fact that both women had died from poison. Both lvero addicted to drink, and Mrs. Ilussell had tried hard to keep drink from her sister, who was in delicate health. She threatened several times to "fix" her unless she abandoned tho habit. Last night by drinking witli some companions Ford got somo liquor in spito of her sister's efforts. Russell then said sho would "fix" heT, and gavo her something to drink. Ford became ill, and was removed to tho hospital. Eussell then told her companion that sho had poisoned her sister, and sho herself -soon afterwards disappeared. It is supposed that she also swallowed somo of tho same poison that sho gave to her sister.
