POLITICAL REFORM AND SOCIAL REFORMS.
Sir-The present Opposition are now the Reform party, ami yet |t «c« s strange that Messrs. Massey. Ho. (.man ■Vllen, and Co. never say a word about gambling, No-License, etc. How can there bo icform without these measures. Permit me to say this, sir, that, until the.Reform party are in favour ot those genuine reforms, they may talk till tiiej are black in the face, but will have no influence with the workers of the Dominion. They come under the same group n« the National League or the beer party. Better by far to put up with the present Government than that a party favourable to gambling and full License should have the management, of affairs. Nothing will help the worker more than reforms in the drink curse. There arc supposed to be 300 jockeys in Hastings, "tt hat can Mr. Herdman do for them?—l am, cte., A READER OF "THE DOMINION" ■ FROM THE FIRST.
